My fantasy story “Staying Afloat” was a finalist in this year’s Baen Fantasy Adventure Award. A father-son team of floating city engineers show up at one such city for one last job; but will they succumb to their darker urges, and take some of the city’s spoils for themselves?

My sci-fi poem “Looking Back” is available in the Sep/Oct 2025 edition of Analog Science Fiction & Fact. I’m very proud of this one, which addresses the dilation of our perception of human development, and how future people will also confuse our present with what we perceive to be the ancient past.
