If you’re a member of SFWA, you can add/upvote these stories on the Nebula reading list.
Finally, I am also eligible in the coming year for the Astounding award for Best New Writer.
My first poem, “Now You Know”, is now published in Strange Horizons. It’s free to read online here.
“Now You Know” is about a child with chronic anxiety who finds an unexpected way to communicate their lived reality. I’m over the moon that it’s found a home in Strange Horizons, one of my dream markets. One to tick off the bucket list!
My sci-fi story “Nelly’s World” is now available in the anthology Divergent Realms. I’ve been excited to post this since the initial announcement months ago.
A science fiction and fantasy anthology about neurodivergence, written by neurodiverse writers, “Nelly’s World” is in some excellent company. Big thanks to the editor Riley Odell for putting this thing together and for running a top show. Check out his website to learn more.
“Nelly’s World” follows a father struggling to connect with his neurodiverse daughter Nelly, following the death of his wife. His only chance to get through to Nelly may lie in the immersive artificial-reality video game in which she spends her days.
I’ve started a separate blog called “The Sci-fi Writer’s Guide to Reality“. The idea is to provide an easy-access resource for sci-fi writers who don’t have a grounding in science or mathematics.

A brief introduction post is included here.
To begin with, the plan is to produce series of primers on different subjects, covering the basic science, common mistakes, suggestions for how to get around those mistakes, and some deep dives for the keener people.
In the future, I hope to expand the offering to include things like dedicated deep dives, Q&A sessions and open critiques.
The first primer series on “remote sensing” will be released over the next few weeks. See here for part 1. I’ll be aiming for Saturday releases, and while I’m aiming for monthly releases, but there’s no planned fixed schedule for now. Producing the posts is time intensive, so it has to fit around other things.
